I had to make a decision about going to watch the Matildas at the Olympics and I decided against. I could afford it by the skin of my teeth, but also with the stuff going on with my health (fibroids) and our general financial situation in the house (better than most but still unnerving), I couldn't afford it.

Unless I win the lottery tonight to the tune of the amount I'd have to pay for the trip? No.

So I guess I'll be watching it from home. Or possibly in a sports bar somewhere in Sydney.

Maybe I could go to Melbourne to watch the Arsenal & Tottenham games coming to Australia instead? 25th May, I think. I'd have to find somewhere to stay - I wonder if I could go visit my friends in Ballarat for a change?

Bridgerton S3 has released a clip with a sweet Kate/Anthony moment. Wheeee!

I kind of wish I had Bridgerton fannish folk here on DW, but I think they're more on Xitter and Tumblr. I don't really know where to find these people anymore, let alone have an actual squeeful conversation with them. Xitter is not great for conversations leading to friendship.

Iron tablets are helping, but my throat is still feeling weirdly raw. I guess I should go see a doctor. Ughh.

Okay, back from PT. Need to sort out lunch. And in the time I've been futzing around on the intarwebs, I could have roasted a beef fillet. DOH.

Fibroids SUCK. I'm sorry you're having problems with them.

I finally had surgery for them, and it's worked out fine. But DAMN, the little buggers are mean to live with.

I was bleeding heavily during my periods (which were lasting almost 2 weeks) because of fibroids. So I had a hysterectomy. I went for a full one, ovaries and everything. (Which in my case turned out to be a good idea because I had cysts all over one of my ovaries and it was the size of a kiwi.)

That, of course, stopped the bleeding and the cramps and the pain. I did go on hormone replacement therapy afterwards because I had no ovaries. (No breast cancer in my family.) So I've done well ever since.

I'd also had a fibroid tumor in my right breast when I was 18 which had to be removed surgically. So clearly my body just LOVES to create fibroids.

Hi, I realise I probably should've said hello a while ago but I am on DW less often and don't really post here. Tumblr is, as predicted, losing its mind, which is where I did my squeeing. The clip is really sweet! :) I am always up for a squeeful conversation but either way, it's been so nice to see my dash so excited and happy.

I think these days one finds acquaintances on social media, and through them admittance to Discord servers, and that's where you make friends.

Late reply but it's been a full on set of weeks! Fandom shifting to consumption of fic versus community resonates strongly with me. I've been on tumblr for almost a decade and just recently have been lucky enough to find one or two other Bridgerton fans that feel like community.

There's a new Polin sneak peek out now so let's hope that people are distracted by their enthusiasm for the first part of the season.
