I forgot I wrote 30,000 words to this historical fantasy!

THIRTY THOUSAND WORDS.

Why do I have so many ideas and yet never seem to be able to finish any of them?

Looking at the timestamps, I plotted these out right before the first Avengers movie, when I got dragged into the MCU and Maria. *sigh*

Oooof I so know that feeling. I sat down at one point just to torture myself and deep dove into my Novels doc folder just to see how many actual WIPs I have in there (rather than just folders with like a faux query to hold the idea for the time being), and I think I ended up with 12 that had at least 1k and a solid plot in my head? And 5 had more than 20k. This is, of course, NOT including the Trailer Park Cryptids Sequel and an adult cozy fantasy thing which are my "active" projects at the moment with about 15k each.

It is SO FRUSTRATING that I can't get my brain to avoid the new shinies long enough to focus. The only reason I am sorta focus on the two active projects is because I have Falstaff Books waiting on the sequel and need SOMETHING as a second project to get back in the query trenches. Oi.

I definitely go back and read my old shinies too. I just... don't seem to make any progress on them lolsob. One in particular is the "book of my heart," a story concept I have loved and attempted for YEARS, but I don't think my skills are quite there enough yet. It's a full epistolary with found material elements, and while epistolary is one of my fave styles to write - especially in fanfic - I just can't seem to manage a full novel length plot with it yet. So that one, at least, I have a reason for leaving it percolating, but the others. I should have done something with them by now. Le sigh.

Yeah, having new folks take a look at my work is always nervewracking. *hugs*
