  • Saturday brunch with [livejournal.com profile] saramund and her mum
  • Saturday dinner with [livejournal.com profile] saramund and her hubs,
  • Sunday brunch with [livejournal.com profile] pentapus and her sister,
  • meeting [livejournal.com profile] ishara after I completely forgot that I said we were going to meet up and discovering her boyfriend K is, like, a freaking GIANT
  • being told by Ernie Hudson that I was the most interesting person at the cocktail party,
  • calling David Hewlett "fatarse" at the behest of Kavan Smith during the cocktail party,
  • listening to Andie Frizell singing karaoke only to have the music cut out from beneath her and leaving her singing a capella,
  • meeting Doug Jones - who acted the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four II, and acted Abe in Hellboy and the sequel, although both times he was voiced over - who is charming and hilarious, very mobile, very flexible, and very tactile,
  • chatting to William Katt (Greatest American Hero) in a moment when he had no autographs to sign,
  • watching the people going to the Victorian Motorbike Show do a double-take at the stormtroopers, furries, anime characters, and emos wandering in and out of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre's Hall 1 before they realised that the Motorbike Show was in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre's Halls 2 & 3, and that they wouldn't be looking at motorbikes alongside the guy in the orange, skintight fetish suit (a zipper began at the buttcrack and went south) that we think was probably meant to represent ElastiGirl of The Incredibles, the guy in the furry suit, or the stormtrooper in heels and a busty chestplate (who was actually a guy).
Overall, the convention and the meeting of people were very enjoyable. I got no autos, photographs, or signatures, but I meet some very lovely people - not just the guests, but convention goers as well.
