My life has gotten quite abruptly busy. Other than the full-time job with actual responsibility (and I still feel guilty about walking out the door at 5pm when I arrive at 7:30am every morning), I'm training with hockey, joining a bible study, and generally exercising more, socialising more, and volunteering more.
Writing time right now is limited to a half-hour during lunch, and then whatever time I can scrape together when I get home. (And even writing at lunchtime feels guilty. Esp. when someone comes around with more work for me.) So, yeah, that's not much time for writing - not half as much as I hoped.
Then there's the GCADOD (known a RaceFail '09) which I'm barely keeping up with. I'm attempting to submit a short story to
verb_noire, and I was planning to sign up for Script Frenzy in April.
Right now, the NAs have gone slightly batty with spring fever and are running every ficathon every invented. Every year, my March, April, and May are overrun! And maybe I don't have to join in, but if I don't, how many of you are going to?
Basically, my writing is coming along very slowly, although it is coming. Current focus is on A Kingdom, Broken, and the various ficathons - including the
jacksamfriends ficathon, the
sga_genficathon, and the
team_sga AU Team ficathon.
I really want to run a Teyla ficathon over at
teylafen, but that's going to have to wait until we get closer to summer - if not until we're actually in summer. I just don't have the time right now. And there's the
sgabigbang looming, too. I wanted to write the next part of The Astonishing Persistence Of Memory for this year.
So, yeah, the writing is coming along...it's just coming along slowly.
And thank you to those who voted for me in the Isis Awards, and to those who nominated me in the Stargate Fan Awards.
Today is my day off for the weekend. Dr. Who convention with The Fifth Doctor tomorrow in Parramatta, and BSG day (catching up on late S3) this afternoon with a friend.
