Eating donuts on the train should be illegal.
Anyway. My last week at this workplace, hopefully I'll get the stuff that needs doing done before I have to leave. It won't be everything they want, but the fox is in charge of the henhouse and the project is so many shades of screwed up, you could paint an oncoming storm with it.
Also: the nitpicking system tester is getting on my nerves. I think they're getting on their nerves, too, because they have deadlines and given that the User Testers keep on shifting the finish line, it looks very much like they're not going to meet their deadlines as absolutely as they hoped. Their final document will be full of caveats: which always puts a tester in a bad mood.
What puts me in a bad mood is someone telling me that an empty field that isn't checked, validated, and doesn't throw an error, is a High Priority issue. No, no it's not. It's annoying, it's concerning, it's an issue, but it's not High Priority.
As far as NaNo goes, I am way way WAY behind. I haven't even finished Part 1. Steve and Maria are having dinner, and Maria is trying not to be attracted to Steve and avoiding telling him all about the testing she's undergoing right now, while Steve is telling himself he's checking in on her because she's one of his and trying not to ask questions about the guy he thinks is her boyfriend/fuck buddy.
It doesn't help that my brain is all split up everywhere with work and life and stuff and I can't concentrate. I used to be better at writing this kind of thing. Lately, I just feel like I fail at all my writing ever.
Haven't touched Yuletide, haven't touched the PR Secret Santa, am organising the Captain Hill Secret Santa (I think we had about 10 participants in the end), and wishing I'd signed up for the Jupiter Ascending exchange but I kept forgetting and I think it's too late now. (I should offer to pinch-hit.)
Ugh. Life, brainweasels, exhaustion, the whole hog.
Maybe I'll go to bed early tonight - like 10:30pm. Oh bugger, a friend was going to call me tonight and my phone is in the other room...
