Went and got my root canal yesterday. Interestingly, while the feeling of swelling in the foot hasn't gone down, the hand doesn't feel quite as awful, and the persistent tingling seems to have faded a little.

If I ever get back to my 'standard' for health, I will not take it for granted. Because these last six months have been damned annoying and a bit scary.
