My body has become a big fan of the afternoon nap. My brain, however, is not quite so delighted with it. That's time that could be used to write!
(Except that we've had B2 staying with us for the last few days, and it's actually quite hard to write when she wants to hold a conversation every five minutes, and B1 is watching the cricket almost constantly.)
It seems somewhat beside the point to tell someone that they're doing a fusion AU 'wrong'. Because half the interpretation of a fusion AU is that you merge one fandom with another, and everyone's idea of how it should be merged (what things should be kept, what things should be discarded, which are the key points of character/world history, who does what role in the new universe) is naturally going to differ. As a result, "I think that your interpretation of X is wrong" comes off as slightly snide criticism.
Captain Hill exchange is nearly due, and I am writing like a crazy writing thing, but I don't think I'll have it quite done by the due date. Luckily, I am the mod and I can give myself an extension as necessary!
I want to quilt, but my quilt room is a mess right now, and doing anything has been difficult in the crazy heatwave we've been suffering here in Sydney. And it's just going to get hotter in the next couple of days!
Picking up my "step-aunt" tomorrow (stepmother's sister) since she's coming in one day ahead of Dad and stepmother and stepbrother. Never met her before. It's going to be interesting, I think!
I read through ffa and _coal today out of sheer procrastination; it was...interesting to get another side's snapshot of fandom and yuletide chat.
Isn't it interesting how just seeing some names turn up on a post makes you think "Oh, please, no" while others' just make you go, "SQUEE!"
My YT fics are doing quite nicely so far as I'm concerned. All my recips have responded, taking them at face value, they're happy with what they received. And other people have commented and kudos'd as well, which definitely adds to the pleasure of the finished fic.
I think this year there will be NYR fic. Maybe.
