It went well.
I have finally worked out how to pav in this oven. Turn the heat waaaaaaaaay down to the lowest setting, then leave it for a couple of hours. Literally, a couple of hours.
I ended up doing it on Christmas morning and it worked beautifully!
The Host-a-Sister that I met for Christmas Day was lovely and we got on really well. Hopefully we'll meet up again in the new year, she's been in Australia for 10 months and is looking to move here long-term. But she'll be in town for the New Year and much of January, so I'm going to catch up with her where possible.
Christmas Day lunch was with Uncle & his wife (not 'aunt' per se, because we haven't really seen enough of her to get that family feeling) and the sistren and parentals, and my Host-a-Sister guest. It went really well, including the pav!
Boxing Day lunch was with Stepbro2 and SSIL and the two anklebiters and it was heaps fun. I have some adorable pics of the youngest nephlet, and nephlet-S wanted to sit next to B1 for the lunch meal after playing the morning with B2.
Boxing Day afternoon was with church friends for the birthday of one of them, annual party, his wife organises and runs it, it was good. A few people took a moment to engage with me, but it is what it is, really. I am learning to expect less and to remember that it's their flaw, not mine.
Saturday I took entirely off, and Sunday I did some stuff around the house. The temps have calmed down a lot - to the point where I wasn't sleeping through the night unless I put an extra quilt on the bed - and so I could do some work I've been putting off for a while.
Then this morning I logged in...and was promptly presented with a WHOLE LINE OF RED WARNING LIGHTS on the dashboard.
ohshit
An entire directory is unavailable. We use it as a resting place for our transfer files.

And it is the week when we can't contact the people who need to be contacted for this sort of stuff.
ohshit
Anyway, our skeleton team is on the case, working out who to reach and how.
Luckily there's not much stuff happening, but 'not much' is not the same as 'no'. So we are scrambling to work out who to kick to get the thing working. In the meantime things are banking up. Just slightly. Oof.
I should probably have some breakfast.
