I signed up for the Morning Evening Day Night prompt-a-thon and picked a prompt.
It's due on the same day as my
genex stories (one assignment, one pinch hit) and two days before the
auexchange, and I want to write it in the style of the canon and I don't have time.
I'm guessing the due date was chosen because it's the "end of summer" and possibly in time for USian Labor Day (or whatever it is) so there'll be readers for the exchange, but it's kind of seriously inconvenient for me. And I know it's a prompt exchange and there's no pressure to deliver, but I'm wondering if I should at least drop the claim for someone else. Except that then it'll never get done.
Ugh.
I'm feeling kind of cynical about fandom and my place in it this morning. I mean, I've always been cynical about fandom and my place in it, but this morning I'm feeling it rather more forcefully.
