I know there's jokes about programmers and introversion, but honestly, this office has the biggest mix of antisocial introverts that I've ever seen mingling together.
Some people will literally grunt at you, or stare at you with a dead fish gaze. (They do make eye-contact, except for the Belgian guy who really doesn’t, and stares at your throat which is very disconcerting.) Others will talk a little, but it’s all that really ‘repressive’ tone where you fully get the impression that people would rather be giving their cat a wet bath while scrubbing them with a wire brush.
The only people who give the impression that they’d like to hold a conversation with you are the team leads. Which, lbr, is probably why they’re the team leads...
