There are still a number of things to do, although - praise be - not absofreakinglutely everything. I'll probably start panicking around 8pm, though.
To do:
- mum's gift
- wrap presents for nextgen (cousins kids)
- move chook tractor to next bed
- start winnowing through the fabric
I'll go to the 6pm carol service tonight, come home, move the chook pen, pack an overnight bag, and make sure everything is ready to head up to the parentals on the morrow.
This year, Christmas Day is just the family - parentals, twins, me. (And Dara the cat.)
Boxing Day is the big relo bash - parentals, sistren, the younger stepbrother and his girlfriend, three uncles and their wives/partners, nine cousins and three partners, six children ranging from six to sixteen, and any add-ins who might wish to come along.
We're all going up Christmas morning and B1 is coming back down that evening to deal with the cats and the chooks, while B2 and I stay up to Boxing Day, and B1 will get a lift up to the parentals with one of the cousins.
I'm debating whether or not to take a portable sewing machine up so I can do some sewing on Chrismas Day when there won't be much to do except sit on the computer and chat with the parentals. I love them, but we aren't naturally chatty people. And I'd like to finish a dress for Boxing Day (although I think that's a bit ambitious) and the quilt top of individual blocks I made earlier this year before the end of the year.
My Yuletide fics are ready, but I haven't the mental space for treats.
And I've finished a couple of smallish fics, but even counting the 3 YT fics, there won't be 12 Days of Ficmas. (There never is. *sigh*)
Anyway, Joyous Yule, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to everyone out there celebrating, and best wishes for 2019 for those who aren't celebrating. *hugs*
