Neighbours who moved out the month after we moved in (to go to Singapore then Malaysia) are moving back in again. Started Saturday with one small moving truck - probably with the basics - now the giant moving/storage trucks have arrived and are putting things together.
B2 has gone for another COVID-19 test after one of her kids was tagged as being in one of the city areas that's seen increased cases. Australia was doing so well, but the rush for the federal govt (conservatives, of course) to get the economy back to normal meant many people who chafed under the restrictions have been less careful than they should. *sigh*
Working from home today, feeling rather unproductive. Still mostly reading documentation, my meetings for handovers are next week. Still don't have access to the system.
Hm. Also don't have the instructions on how to check if I have access to the system. Might email someone about that this afternoon.
Apartment settlement is "2nd week of August, with 14-21 days to settle" so August which should be doable one way or the other.
Got my preso for the Australian Romance Conference in - conference is in the 2nd week of August, but the presentation is allegedly a week later? IDEK. Now need to: a) set up mailing list, b) finish website, c) finish next story.
Got my Everywoman fic in. It feels...not quite right. But I can't work out how to end it better.
Have rearranged the study so B1 has the desk, and I'm working on the 'cutting table' that I used to use for quilting projects. It's not perfect, and when summer turns up it'll be a bit of a nightmare (the room gets crazy hot and has no real ventilation opportunities) but it's good enough for now.
Last night's bible study was good: we talked a lot about loneliness in the church, the frequent feeling of disconnection that happens even when we have connections, and the things that cause it. Not all of it is 'solveable' per se, but it was a good discussion to have.
