Antibiotics are keeping things on an even keel, I think, but still not feeling 100% in the chest. I should probably call the doc and make a follow-up appointment.

Today, I feel like a Jack-Of-All-Trades-Master-Of-None. Good-ish at a bunch of things, but nothing much special.

The accesses have finally come through for work. So now the real work begins, a good 6 weeks after I started.

I got a follow-up call for filling in spaces and detail on my security vetting. Apparently my referees (one police detective, one minister) had to answer questions about whether I use drugs or have stolen things? That would be interesting/amusing to have seen them reading and answering. Not sure what comes next.

Made melanzane di parmigiana - eggplant parmigiana - last night. The tomato-based sauce is always a little too liquid, and it ends up more like casserole than lasagne. It needed way more boiling down during the course of the day, but without burning the sauce to the bottom of the pan.

We have tofu that is out of date; it should be okay to eat, it hasn't been opened. But I'm looking at recipes and thinking agedashi tofu sounds pretty good... But it needs to be eaten fresh.

I could deep fry it. Looks like the trick to that is flour/cornstarch dipping, then egg mix, then crumbing. But I'd need to make the crumbs to do that. Which I can do. We have a chunk of home-made bread somewhere around...

Which reminds me, I need to harvest the sprouting broccoli stalks, all except for one or two which I'm going to let go to seed for next year's seed.

And for some reason I want to make cake. Sponge layers with cream and fruit. I just have a yen.

I wasn't in a cooking mood last week. This week, I guess I am.
