After the early morning personal training session on Monday, my back was a bit achey through the day, but overnight it developed into that constant 'saddleback' ache: like a lower back strain.

It was particularly bad sitting anything but absolutely upright. Stretches didn't entirely help, and neither did a massage I took at 2pm. I was debating whether or not to play hockey, but after testing various poses, decided that it wasn't so much when I was bending over as when I was sitting. Little twinges all over the place.

First hockey game was fine, a little twingey, but the team we were playing against wasn't full-bore, gung ho.

Second hockey game, I tripped over someone's stick in the 1st half, and landed on my knee in a sprawl stretching out my back in the process. OW.

Last night was rough until around 2:30, when I ended up turning myself around entirely so my feet were at the head of the bed and my head at the foot of the bed, shoring my legs up with pillows, and anything else I could think of to alleviate the ache.

In the end, I turned to 2 panadol and 2 ibuprofen. And woke up tired and a little sore but otherwise manageable. It's been manageable since.

Today, sitting isn't quite as painful as it was yesterday, but there are still twinges and echoes of twinges. I think moving it around last night (before the sprawl) was a help.

I might need to double-dose myself again tonight, though - panadol and ibuprofen.
