1. What weird food combinations do you really enjoy?
Well, that's stymied me right off te bat. I can't think of anything particularly weird to me. Tofu? I mean, most people don't like Tofu. Avocado and chocolate? That actually goes kinda well together. But I don't eat it often so I can't say I really enjoy it.

2. What social stigma does society need to get over?
My instinct is "anything appearance-based". Including disability. IDK, I haven't thought this one through very much.

3. What food have you never eaten but would really like to try?
Witchetty grubs. Curious.

4. What’s something you really resent paying for?
The bad decisions of other people.

5. What would a world populated by clones of you be like?
Depends how much of me the cloning took. If we imagine the world to be populated by people who are physically like me (at least to start with), then there'd probably be a lot of shit getting done, we'd all live in hobbit-houses (excellent energy-saving, as well as being well-sized).

The thing is 'clones' is a problem term; technically my sisters are 'clones' - identical physical copies (they might be mirror closed) - but their personalities are very different.

If a world was populated with the same kind of personality as me... Well, there'd be a lot more justice. But it also might look a little dictatorial in some aspects. Shit would be got done. Probably. Most of the time. Guys would have to put a lot more effort into their personality and at least a little into their appearance.

6. Do you think that aliens exist?
I like to quote Ellie from Contact: "if not, it's an awful waste of space". I'm not fussed if there are, to be frank - to quote C.S.Lewis' Aslan: "Child, I am telling you nobody's story but your own."

7. What are you currently worried about?
Climate change. 2023-2024 is El Nino for us around the Pacific which means hot and dry. Things are already bad and our government isn't going to take the necessary steps to properly limit corporate capitalism, or put the money into human resilience. And while we can do what we can on a personal level, we can still only do so much.

8. Where are some unusual places you’ve been?
'Unusual' by whose standards? I've been all over the world, in many different situations, done things that many others have done, and...IDK.

I guess one place I've been that most people reading this wouldn't have been is the Northern Territory, Australia. Not quite Arnhemland, but certainly out bush, both in Alice Springs and up around Darwin. Bali? Bali was interesting, culturally and in terms of what I could see of the society. But it also prepared me for Istanbul, which was a rather different culture to the tourist places I'd been before.

9. Where do you get your news?
Twitter, Mastodon, the Guardian Australia, various links on FB - the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission, a.k.a. "Aunty"), etc. Some instagram accounts - sharonsaysso, goodgoodgoodco, groundnews. A variety of places, really.

10. What are some red flags to watch out for in daily life?

If there's a burning smell, I've probably left something on the stove.

(ftr, there is something on the stove right now, but I have a timer on it!)
