Woke around 7:30, read in bed for a bit. Messaged some friends to see if anyone wanted to come to brunch, went to brunch with sister and two friends joined us.
It was a day of twos: two friends for brunch, two games of hockey (one unplanned), two wins, two goals by me.
We won the first game (my team) 7-1, the second game 3-2.
The team we beat in our division are the lowest in our 'four team sub-division', but they did get one through our defence and good on them for keeping going and not giving up.
I scored my first goal in the game (we were at about 3 or 4 goals by that time) and my team sang me happy birthday on the pitch to a lot of laughter, led by the coaching team on the sidelines.
Second game was unexpected; I'd figured if they needed a sub, they'd ask. Since they didn't, I was all prepared to watch for a bit and then go home for a nice warm bath at half-time. My friends and I sat down to watch and one of the girls on the field called over and asked if any of us could play since they were down a player - turns out one of the women got the game time wrong. So I went and fetched my stuff and went to play a second game.
I had to wear a slightly different uniform to our standard one - we had worn an alternative strip for our game against a team that has a very similarly-coloured uniform. And I did a lot of running in this game. Surprisingly, I could do a lot of running, although I'm feeling slightly exhausted today and very sore.
Came home, had a stomachache from eating too much sugar and drinking too much water. Had some dinner. Went to bed with cats around 8:30pm woke up around 10:30pm to put the cats away, then read until 1:30am and afterwards slept until 6am.
Went for a walk and a stretch this morning - still incredibly sore and more than a bit tired - and then got a ticket to see the Matildas play Denmark tonight. Gonna rug up pretty good for it, I think - it's gonna be cold. Trying to work out what I can take into the stadium: answer - not much. Might try a small pack of lollies and an orange.
