stuff for the week

After everything, upgrade completed fine.

Had someone come by to help mulch the path weeds - cardboard wet down, and covered with mulch. Probably needs to be better mulched. Also, I need to pull up more of the weeds off the sections where he didn't pull up the weeds or cardboard/mulch, but that's a bit more manageable. Sort of. Maybe.

Made cassoulet. Probably not the right day to make it since B1 also brought home remains of a picnic - we don't throw away leftovers, we eat them. (We also eat them probably when we should throw them out. This affects B1 marginally and me not at all - I seem to have a cast-iron stomach. And am exceedingly grateful for it.)

Anyway, it's a pretty good cassoulet, but...not quite as nice as the last one I made. Not sure I quite know why, but I still have the recipe, so I guess I can work it out over time.

Tonight, need to go for a run (summer hockey starts tomorrow) and do some shopping for making 'dessert' for a local charity kitchen.

I'm wearing sneakers indoors - running sneakers. It feels weird to be wearing them indoors, but they've got my orthotics in there and they're actually feeling somewhat better than walking around in house shoes or bare feet. But the toe is feeling a little bit antsy, in part because I've doing exercises, but also outside garden work, and it's just not happy with the results.
