New RPG - [profile] fandom_tropolis

Another RPG pimp.

I promise I won't be doing this again: but I'm maintaining balance here. And since this LJ is mostly read by Atlantis fans and I know [livejournal.com profile] fandom_tropolis is yet new so they'll be looking for Atlantis characters!

The game, [livejournal.com profile] fandom_tropolis, runs on a similar premise to [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh, however, the pace is much slower and it's a college town, not a highschool town, so characters should be developed appropriately.

Please note, by applying or joining the comms, you're acknowledging that you've read all of these. It's long, but there's a lot of info in there you should be aware of.

List of characters already in the game.

Game application - to be cut and pasted into the body of an email and sent to FTAdmins@gmail.com.

Welcoming committee for newbies to the game or RP in general - if the app is intimidating, ping someone, please. They're more than happy to help you through it or answer questions.

Right now, they're taking student, teacher, and resident apps, but please be aware that they are going to try to crack down on the amount of teacher turnover that happens - if you don't think you can stick out teaching for the rest of the school year, don't apply for a teacher, no matter how cool you think the idea is. (Having experienced this at FH, I can say it totally sucks for the students when teachers just disappear.)

[livejournal.com profile] fandom_tropolis is not Fluffy!Crack RP. It's a dark world setting, with violence, drama, and angst focusing on good writing and character development. That doesn't mean there won't be wackiness - there will, if I know this crew, but it's not apparently the focus. If you're not prepared to invest thought into your characters and their plots, or you're going to be stressed out about the darker tones, this won't be the game for you. On the other hand, I'm told it's entirely consent-based, so nothing can happen to your character without your permission - and this group of people is excellent about OOG communication.

The game is not competition for FH.

Some character crossover occurs, but the game has been in the pipes for a while, but has been put forward now because there was a good jumping off point and enough interest to get it off the ground. On the other hand, FH has recently listed some fandoms as low-priority in an attempt to rebalance the game. If you're dying to play a character from one of those fandoms, FT might be for you.
