I've never had dreads. How do you wash them?

You just wash and rinse them and let them dry.

Yeah, that's it. You just have to be careful when you're rinsing to get the shampoo out. Also, they take a lot longer to dry because of all the condensed (?) hair.

Depending on what your hair is doing, you wash, rinse, you may also take the time to separate and twist in the new growth, that way you get less all over matting. That's what I used to do when I had them.
