My problem with Kanaan is that he's very much a cipher: the only things we know about him are that he's got the Wraith gene, and he's Torrin's father. Oh, and that Teyla often found him frustrating because he didn't have much in the way of ambition. That last in particular makes me wonder what she sees in him, especially when she's got three extraordinary guys that she interacts with on a daily basis.
Now, they could go somewhere interesting with that, and looking at how maybe after dealing with the intensity of John, Ronon, and Rodney all the time, it's nice to come back to someone who *isn't* going to be constantly challenging and pushing her. But I'm afraid that he's basically going to be the house husband who's basically there to babysit while Teyla's off doing team stuff.
