Truth And Consequences

Mohinder's not very bright, is he? The idea that there might be more than one explanation - that Bob isn't on the level never seems to cross his mind. How can he be that stupid?

Then again, Maya is ridiculously trusting of a complete stranger. And Peter is trusting Adam/Kensei.

And Hiro really doesn't listen. And it's Laura Cadman! With red hair.

And again, we have the story-that-goes-around-the-edges - instead of telling Victoria Pratt directly that he's working with Adam Monroe.

And then she doesn't tell him that Adam Monroe is dangerous.

*sigh*

My big issue with this who is that everything is so damned black and white to the "good guys": Mohinder, Peter, Maya. Don't any of the good guys see in shades of grey?

This series seems to epitomise the phrase, "Evil will win, because good is stupid!"

West, please stop with the cliches. Please. Stop. With. The. Cliches.

Does Monica and Micah breaking in reinforce the blacks-as-thieves/robbers stereotype?

You know, one of the most interesting characters to me is Mrs. Bennett - the way she changed from being so apparently vacuous with no thought of anything but her dog to an actual, real person.

If Hiro runs off without Ando again, I'm going to... oh ARGH.

And here we go: Peter and Hiro face off.

--

Interesting, to Mohinder, the worst possible thing is that he's a killer.

Why the hell doesn't anyone in this show have any cunning, FFS?

Oh, Mama Petrelli...you know, I really love that she's the "coldhearted" one, but her POV is the one that I most resonate with when she tells Matt to kill Peter if necessary.

Why the heck doesn't Peter at least question whether or not Hiro's got a point about Adam?

Torture is about will: the will to cause pain.

And manipulation is about knowing which buttons to press: and Adam certainly knows Peter's. His brother, Caitlin...

*laughs like crazy at Matt and Nathan*

And the reason for putting Molly and Maya together comes clear.

My big issue with this series is that all the heroes are pushovers.

Why the hell didn't they send Nathan in to begin with FFS? That is the stupidest thing ever.

"You should be grateful?" And Peter shows how colossally clueless he is at age twenty-six. because one good act clears everything else, and there's no possibility that Adam is lying to him. None at all. Peter, you are an IDIOT.

So, incidentally, is Mohinder.

Why can't Nikki and Monica go under the burning beam, pray tell?

Oh, that was brilliant, Hiro - burying Adam alive! BRILLIANT!

I'd kinda forgotten how good the storylines are in this show - and yet how frustrating this show is on a character personality level. The "hero" characters aren't just good, they're innocent, clueless, and flat-out stupid (Peter, Claire, Hiro, Mohinder).

Dear Tim Kring,

"Good" does not equate to "not having any cunning, intelligence, or logical thinking",

kthxbai,

T.

Hahaha. Your sum up outside the cut is my sum up, though I had never articulated it beyond, "I watched season one by fast-forwarding anytime Peter's mouth was open." YOU HAVE PUT WORDS TO THE FEELING IN MY HEART. XD
