I see what [livejournal.com profile] marag meant by Eureka being light and fluffy...up until the point where it whacks you in the gut. Yeah, that was a big whack in the gut. Enjoyable, but whacky.

And now I'm hunting downloads for S2 Eureka.

::nods:: Yup. Still one of the best shows out there, simply for having the fewest "issues", y'know? Good female characters, good characters of color, good writing, etc.

But yeah, when they choose to whack you in the gut...

Lots of good stuff in S2 also :)

I believe that Taggart's "accent" was deliberately bad. My understanding was that they had plans for the character and that we would learn why his accent was so fake. However, since that never materialized, I can't be sure if I imagined that.

(Honest, I've seen that actor in a bunch of things and I find it difficult to believe he can't do a better Australian accent!)

season 2 is even better. I love how Eureka just sneaks up on you!

It was my happy popcorn show until . . . that happened. But I still love it

Oh, Eureka is one of my favorite shows and probably the best SF show on the tube right now. That can be argued, but the handling of the characters of color seems to me that the writers might *gasp* know people of color. Anyway, I liked the first half of season two then blah, but season 3 has been pretty good so far so I still consider it a great show. I think the only character I don't like on the show is Beverly and...well, never mind if you haven't seen season two yet.
