So, in the last day, I've finished and submitted to the sgahcchallenges Last-Fic-Writer-Standing, and desperately hope that I don't get kicked off the island in the first week (so very not encouraging). I've hit 2000 words on my sg_rarepairings story, although we're at the sex scene and the POV character is giving me trouble.

Almost everything else has stalled right now. I don't want it to, but it has.

I'm stressed about NaNoWriMo and the profic I'm trying to write for it, the secret Santa challenges, and this "first three chapters" profic competition I'm trying to enter, the fact that I've started four different stories for kristen999's John-and-Teyla Thing-A-Thon only to discard them because they're 'not good enough', and that I wanted to do something for paintedspires but have neither the time nor the skill, sga_flashfic's 'Gods and Monsters' challenge but haven't the time or ideas, yuletide but won't have the time, and submit a short story to an anthology except that I'm finding it difficult to translate the idea from concept to actual story.

My longer SG rare pairing story is a no go. It definitely won't be finished on time :( The muse is a bye-bye. I think you'd have liked it as well even though it was me who wrote it :P

Like your tava, there was a scene in this other one where I paralleled a story of yours... Emmm, a Teyla/Lorne one, where Sheppard sees Lorne coming out of Teyla's room (or something?) and when Lorne is painting her. I can't remember if they are the same story but when I got this pairing, that's what I thought of.

At least, I hope it was your story else I've just made an arse of myself ;)

I know about fics piling up! I have two longerish stories that have been in my head for months..yet I've found little time to do them or these freaking late nights from work leave my brain so fried, I can't write anything when I get home.

Don't stress about my fic. Writing is supposed to be fun and something we enjoy--is out happy place. I don't want it to feel like something you have to do. In fact, you don't have to.

Only if you're inspired and I seriously doubt any of your attempts were not 'good enough'.

I just feel really bad about not having something for you - especially because I know you were annoyed about the original writer not coming up with the goods.

It's just that the damned muse has run off and isn't playing ball with anything that isn't 100% crack or has a big red deadline circled around it. And even then she's being extremely reluctant.

Yeah, I know that feeling. It's hard when you get home from a long day and you can't get to the 'writing point' where you're unwound enough to leave your work behind but at just the right point (I spelled that as "the write point" three times just then *facepalms*) to get some writing done.

And some days I've spent the whole day thinking about the story I was going to write when I got home...only to get home and 'poof!' It's gone...

Wow. You certainly have a lot going on. Had no idea what NaNoWriMo was when I first read this post. Then LJ Spotlight decided to post something interesting for once, and *gasp* I've signed up for the thing. I figured it would give me incentive to get some of my original fic written. *shrug*

Wish I could be more encouraging to you. What I've read so far of your shadowkin stuff is quite intriguing, the whole mythology and world you've created.
