I think that what my writing really needs is an enabler. Someone to prod me on to evil deeds further mayhem acts of mischief the things that I consider writing, but which my inner editor tends to shoot down long before my fingers get beyond laying anything down on the keyboard.

It's difficult, being in a different time zone to the bulk of people on your f-lists or in your fandoms. I used to talk to the Americans in their evening, my morning. But my new job prohibits that through the cunning use of web blockers. Curse them and their organisational exclusions! And I had people I used to talk to in Australian time zones, but they've all acquired this 'real life' thing that seems to take up so much of their time. (Okay, well, it seems to be taking up a lot of my time, too, lately.)

And now it's hard to write.

I think I need that first conversation with a person (or comment exchange or something) to kick-start me into the actual writing process - once I'm there, I'm cool. It's just getting there that's half the fight.

*sighs*

This has been an unproductive week.

Hey!

I am close (ish) in time to you, and also in need of an enabler. Sign me up.

No, but I have MSN and gmail.

Er...given work, though, we'd probably have to pick a time. I am busy tonight, but I am going to be home all weekend. How far ahead of me are you?

I'm guessing Uk to Australian time zones are so completely offset as to make rather hard I could be helpful here.

Well I currently work at home, so am free most of the day for chatting a bit between work, though I tend to get on the compter about 9-10am - is that early enough?

You know, I think I probably need someone to prod me too. I'm terrible at finishing things.

I can't fault your company for blocking chat rooms, etc, but I do miss seeing you around in the evenings.

Good luck with writing. (Okay, that probably didn't help. *headdesk*)
