Were there any Teyla or Ronon storylines in SGA that didn't pertain to them being Other?

Did Teal'c have any storylines in SG1 that weren't about him being Jaffa?

I'm struggling: all the episodes that I can remember being billed as about any of those three were always about them being Not Like Us (to quote the Eurondans of SG1's The Other Side fame).

you're kidding, right? Remember SGA and SG-1 are all Earth is good rah, rah, rah! As near as I can remember, it's always been a focus on them being other. Maybe the Michael story line? Since I think the reason he focused on Teyla was because she was the only one who attempted to befriend him. I don't think he knew about her DNA until later... but I could be wrong.

One of these days, i want to go back and do an au on that episode where the expedition is put on trial and Woolsey gets them out of it. Except I want Ronon and Teyla to do it. Because you know, they are actually a part of Pegasus.

In Michael he noted that Teyla's mind was more open to his. Whether he realised that was because of her Wraith DNA or not...I can't remember.

Ah, so Woolsey got them out of the Inquisition (or whatever it was called).

Right now, I really want to go back and rewrite S5 as though it never happened. :/

yeah. It really pissed me off because the bad guys put all of AR-1 in a cell and dragged John out for him to answer for their crimes. they completely ignored Teyla and Ronon. The episode itself had potential... it just completely failed in its execution.

Possibly the Groundhog's Day episode - Jack and Teal'c were both stuck in the time loop and his reaction to that wasn't so much about othernes as about that door that kept hitting him. This isn't a deep example, but he and Jack were arguably the most important characters in that ep.

Other than that, I've got nothing.

You could always just write pre-Atlantis Ronon on Sateda or Teyla's perspective of the weirdos coming through the gate. *I* certainly wouldn't consider it AU.

I know that sgatlantislight was making "The Essential Teyla Emmagan" and so on and so forth, but I don't know where that post is now - maybe if you google that and The Essential Ronon Dex and see what comes up?

Yeah, that was a little about Teal'c - but most of the focus was about Jack and his Day Of Doom.

It's rather sad that I'm only just realising this - and that this is the way it is.

Thing is, I want to write post-Atlantis Teyla And Ronon Are Awesome - because they get written out so often and so easily with the excuse that "oh, but they don't have anything to contribute" that it infuriates me.

Also The Greatest Of All Treasures - not quite Adama/Roslin romance, but certainly friendship and connection. :)

I can't think of a single one about Teyla or Ronon but maybe Avatar for Teal'c? I haven't watched it in a while so I could be way off, but I seem to remember the focus just being on testing the new training device. Although it is Daniel who comes and saves him so that might negate the Teal'c-ness of the episode.

Wellllllll, here's an idea. It's not post, but there's always them saving the day rather than us Earthlings.

Otherwise, I'd say that those two are definitely left in charge of Atlantis after everyone else goes home for some reason or another.

I was just thinking...there were no episodes where "something happened to Teal'c/Teyla/Ronon just because they happened to be there," were there?

So, no accidentally being fried by Ancient devices (Jack, John, Rodney), no accidentally being possessed (Sam, Elizabeth, John, Jennifer), no accidentally ending up in a situation where they had to think their way out of it without backup (just about everyone else on the show).

It was always "because he's Jaffa" or "because she's got Wraith DNA" or "because he came from Sateda and his people were toasted by the Wraith."

I have this massive Pegasus Plotbunny Of Doom that totally AU's The Return and makes Teyla and Ronon the stars of the hour.

There are Asurans and Wraith and Genii and Aiden Ford and clones and Travellers and the Earth people only turn up right at the end, just that little bit too late to save the day.

I thought of that episode, but figured it was really a B-plot and held no significance to the key happenings in the episode.

I was thinking of the 'episode by-line'. For Critical Mass, my mental by-line is: "Sheppard and co. learn that there's a Goa'uld in Atlantis and it's a race against time to determine who's the traitor among them."

Teyla had no part in that.

I don't know, right now, I want to write John/Teyla and John/Teyla-and-team fics. If I got assigned that bunny for a ficathon or something, I'd probably have written it, but as it stands...

Just do what I do (but hopefully you'll continue it better than I do :P). Write out a premise and just leave it alone till you visit it later and maybe the Muse'll be more agreeable.

Heh. My "on hold" folder has 77 files in it. Granted, about 40 of them are stories that I've actually started, while the rest are notes on the stories...

I tend to get a LOT of ideas...
