Some of you are just here for the Stargate, and I get that. I'll probably start posting in other fandoms as the year goes on. It depends if they find me any characters that interest me half as much as Teyla and John and Ronon did.
If you're not so into fannish stuff (which is the primary purpose of this journal), then you might prefer to friend my personal LJ and keep an eye on that. Details in userinfo, if you're interested.
And if you've been trying to get me into your fandom for a while, then your best bet is to hassle me now. :)

The characters are ones who have just enough mystery to make fic writing for them very interesting exploration, snippets of backstory, but not so little to frustrate badly.
Plus there's good female characters who don't conform to stereotypes I'd say. There's less time spent on them perhaps but they actually take part in all elements - you never get them conspiciously absent or the like.
Is that enough reason?
EDIT: This (http://community.livejournal.com/crack_van/3472016.html) gives a good overview of the show.

I just wanted you to give me why you watched it and found it good. I've seen a fraction of an episode - was at the parentals' house when it was on.

Personally I started watching just because it was British scifi show and they're quite rare really, thought to give it a chance and then I got hooked.
Sadly S1 is only 6 episodes like with many British tv shows, but S2 got 7 - making for a run of 13 that recently got shown in the U.S as one full cable season. Thankfully S3 which airs this year is 10 episodes whee!
