Yes, south-east Australia is on fire. No, that's not near where I live, so I'm okay and safe and well. Yes, all my peoples are safe so far - family and friends.

But over 100 people aren't. 500+ properties are gone. And the death toll still isn't confirmed.

Donations via the Australian Red Cross can go here to help the survivors.

And, by God, I hope we NAIL the arsonists who set these killers.

Amen! Arson is not something to be tolerated. It is something to be jumped on and stomped as soon as it starts. I come from the Pacific Northwest, where we regularly have large forest fires every year in the late summer. What comes naturally is trouble and heartbreak enough, without adding jerks with matches into the deal, too.

Oh wow. It is an insanely tragic event, especially so because of the arson. So glad you and yours are out of danger.
