All right. Run for the exits, peeps.

Time for a small manifesto of politics and religion from me.

It's actually pretty simple.

As a Christian - child of God, sister in Christ - I firmly believe that there are only two things I should be mindful of when voting 'as a Christian':

1. That the political party will uphold my right to practise my faith freely.
2. That the political party will uphold my right to speak my faith freely.

For the rest of it?

Kill them all and let God sort them out!

*coughs* Well, maybe not so much. :D

But, really, beyond that, I'm not going to say "a vote for Christianity is a vote for/against [insert ideology here]". Because that's frankly untrue.

Christianity's purpose as a faith is to reconnect people with God through the person of Jesus Christ. So long as Christians are staying connected with God and connecting other people to God through His love in us, we're fulfilling God's purpose for our lives.

Admittedly, I'm not doing too great a job on a personal scale, I think. But that's between me and God, not me and the political parties vying for dominance.

Incidentally, both parties are guilty of the most egregious pork-barrelling - to say nothing of huge porky pies - in this election campaign. Apparently the decision on who leads Australia comes down to some 30 'swing' electorates out of 150 federal ones.

The rest of us, who are firmly in the Liberal (conservative) or Labor (uh...whatever it is) 'safe seats' won't be getting a brass razoo. BASTARDS.
