Had a 'moment' at Wynyard station where I think I lost consciousness for a few seconds, tonight. One minute I was texting a friend I was going to catch up with after dinner, the next, I was being held up by the friend I'd just been to dinner with. Good thing he was there to catch me, or I'd have been sprawled on Wynyard Stn Platform 4 with no idea how I got to be there.

Never had that happen to me before.

Then again, I think I had about 5-6 standard drinks this evening. Um. And may not have been entirely sober by the time I drove home.

All things considered, I should have caught a taxi. (Who would have thought a Long Island Tea had three shots of alcohol in it? I was expecting one!) I won't be doing that again, I can tell you!

On the other hand, I can now safely say that Spice Temple restaurant has delicious food, but I'm not sure I'd pay around 6x as much as I would at the local Chinese restaurant. (Chinese restaurant as in "they have two menus: one for Chinese people and one for the foreigners," and "no, you can't get sweet-and-sour anything," and "yes, that is thousand year egg, and no, it's not one thousand years old, just eat the damn thing already!") The differential in taste and presentation is simply not that great.

Anyway, the reason for this post - some quilting links for ideas and designs for my mother's quilt:
wave: note the busy borders and the overlapping
four women in the garden: one major figure in the front, and softer backgrounds
flowers, dragons, tigers and leaves: mostly for the chrysanthemum design - how would one replicate it in patchwork?
Welsh Quilt: a central medallion kind of piece, with surrounding patches - not the same as the panel I have to work with, but possibly with some good ideas.

Also, some designs from quiltmoments.com:
QM121 Elegance
Twilight Kaleidoscope
QM102N Keyboard Kaleidoscope (and the regular QM102 above it)

And, because I found this while looking and I cannot resist beautiful artwork: Star Wars Art at Wookiepedia - Force Heretic I: Remnant

Long island iced tea has four shots: gin, rum, triple sec and vodka.

But you're doing better than the guy I know who thought it was actual iced tea and also an inexperienced enough drinker not to recognise that he was drinking booze.

I think you should make all the quilts. That Welsh quilt is beautiful.
