So, I was just fishing around on beth_soprano's journal and discovered that there was a Kate/Will Comment-a-thon on inthefighting back in August last year!

And I promptly went through the fills. :D

No one's ever died going through an air duct. (But there's a first time for everything!)
Because Kate would do this!

Kate wants her real underwear back.
It's the dialogue and the little humourous interchanges - even if they don't mean to be.

And that's just the first page!

Mind you, I'm beginning to think there's only four people who 'ship Kate/Will in this fandom. Five including me.

I'm very behind on eps and I never really thought about the fandom, but Kate/Will is rare?! That was my ship as soon as she appeared.

I think that the majority of the fandom are in love with Tesla - not a big surprise: he's a snarky, geeky, intellectually brilliant white male...

Think Rodney McKay as a vampire and better with people.

And, like most visual minority female characters, Kate doesn't get much storyline and when she does, it tends to be questionably presented. Which then means people don't write her, which then means that nobody takes an interest...

So, yeah, Kate is probably the fandom's least-favoured character. It's like Teyla - sure, people like her (or they say they do), but that doesn't translate into action: they don't write about her.

I stopped watching a few eps after Kate came in, but I loved her greatly. How could I not? She's a Kate. :)

And, yes, I know and do love Tesla as well. But, even so, give me more Kate. I'd even take Tesla/Kate. Which would be all sorts of weird.

I'm going to be writing a Kate-centric story for halfamoon, but I need to finish my Losers fic first...

Hrm. I wouldn't say I don't ship Kate with Will, just not exclusively so. And there's also the part where I don't write Sanctuary fic. :( You could count me as maybe half a shipper?

I feel your pain on being a shipping minority, though.

Well, four people writing fic for it. Which is really the only way to drum up interest in a pairing when dealing with a show made by the Stargate writers.

It's fandom or nothing. And since there's hardly any fandom for Kate/Will...

I also enjoy other pairings: Kate/Henry, and Helen/John, and I could possibly be persuaded to Henry/Will. But these pairings have writers for them, so I can sit back and read and relax a little.

It really would be nice to be a majority shipper in my primary pairing again... *wry smile*
