Got the call from the vet. Liver issues.
Her liver enzymes are through the roof - one set of enzymes is double the normal range, another set are quadruple. They're sending test results away to Queensland to check for pancreatitis and the results won't be back until Monday.
If it's not pancreatitis, there are two possible issues (not counting cancer, which is something else), but I don't remember the name. Only that one is chronic and the other isn't. They'd have to do an abdominal ultrasound on her to determine if it's cancer or one of these two possible issues, which means a specialist, and then work it out from there.
So it's a process of elimination right now.
In short, my healthy little kitty has gotten very sick very fast.
She's going to stay in over the weekend so they can keep an eye on her and give her some basic medication. Which is good.
But she doesn't like being in strange places with other animals and people - it stresses her out, which is bad. Still, she ate some and drank some last night, said the vet, but hasn't really settled down to sleep the way other animals have. Also bad.
And I'm going to miss her horribly for the next couple of days.

The two of you will be in my thoughts and hopes. Here's hoping this is the not-chronic, not-pancreatitis, not-cancer option, and that it goes away SOON!
But my first hope for her is for a good night's sleep. Poor stressed little thing! It's so hard to confront a wordless world without the ability to understand what the future will bring!
