Recipe: Eight Treasure Duck

The trick will be working out where to get the bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Everything else should be easy enough to find.

Saturday would probably be the best date for this. In which case I have to get the duck to a freezer tonight. Probably the parental freezer since ours is full of...stuff.

I have resorted to canned water chestnuts lately. ;_; Best of luck to you!

I think canned may be the only option. However, a call to Mum to ask where she gets hers may be necessary.

To be fair, if you rinse and then boil the canned ones for about a minute, they don't taste all that bad. Not as good as fresh, obviously, but it gets rid of the tinny flavor.
