I think I'm in the mental equivalent of shock right now. Not quite sure what to think or do. I've cleaned up my desk, am cleaning out my computer, trying to think of all the bits that need doing before I go.
I hope that the upshot is that you find a nice job with nice people, you find it soon, and that in time you are able to look back and say that today led you to a better place.
But, man, do you ever have the right to feel shaken and confused. While it is nice that it is not performance related, it doesn't make it any the less disorienting.
It's very unexpected and a little disorienting. I'm all over the map, not only prepping for this holiday, but...oh...trying to think ahead. Or not think ahead.
Or possibly just replying to comments without making much sense.
I don't think it should be too hard. There are projects out there, so people keep saying, it's just...the whole prospect of going through the job run again...
Oh, no!! Oh my god, I just saw this. I'm so sorry! Even when you know you'll be able to get something else soon, it's always, yes, disorienting, when this kind of thing happens. :( I hope your trip is terrific and helps soften the disorientingness!

Virtual hug.

It's just...unexpected. And sudden. And I think it's shaken more than a few of my office colleagues...
