choices choices choices

I need to make a dessert for bible study potluck. It's pretty chilly around here so I'm looking at something warm - what would you go for?

1. Pavlova
2. Brownies
3. Lemon Meringue Pie
4. Apple Pie.

Those are things I think I can make tomorrow. Assuming that I have time between quilting and visiting my grandmother (who appears to be on her last legs).

Brownies seem like the most easily transportable of all those items. Also, I admit, I'm all for chocolate-based pastries. :)

Brownies seem to be the popular choice.

On the other hand, I just realised I have puff pastry and apples galore and so I think that it shall be apple pie.

But brownies are definitely the fallback position...

Thanks. She's old and has been in a nursing home for the last six or seven years. And I just realised this morning that my granfather died nearly 17 years ago. I didn't realise it had been that long.

True. But I think I shall try to go right with apple pie since I have ingredients to hand which need using.

Gran is old and doesn't really remember anyone much anymore. She's in her mid-to-late nineties and has been in a nursing home for, oh, the better part of six years. It might just be her time, although hopefully she stays long enough for her middle son, my father, to get back to Australia.
