Thanks for all the condolences, guys. I don't have the energy to answer all of you individually right now, but all your messages of encouragement and love were very much appreciated through the day.
She'll be buried on Wednesday, and I'm taking Wednesday and Thursday off for the funeral and family things. Dad flies in tomorrow, but he'll want time with the Aunt and Uncle to work the details of the funeral out, I imagine. And he said something about staying a week or so to help sort out the house, which would be good. I hope we'll see my half-bro for a few days at least. We're not close, but he's good people.
So, first week survived, into the second week. Things are still quiet at work right now. The project is a bit of a bureaucratic nightmare. Apparently, in spite of having had a similar system for the last ten years, the parent company of the subsidiary whose system we're putting in doesn't actually have any documented procedures for change management.
And most of you probably just heard "Apparently, in spite of blah blah blah blah blah blah..." Never mind. Let's just say it's a bureaucratic mess and although it's very boring now, things are certainly going to hit flashover in the next month.
The people seem nice enough to work with, though.
I'm bloody tired, though. Going back to a full time job, plus commuting, is taking more out of me than it used to. I feel old.
