I love it when you have an idea for something, and upon researching the background canon, you discover your idea fits perfectly into the extended canon.
On the other hand, I'm so glad I stopped reading Marvel comics circa 2001. Because it looks like things got weird after that. (Although, on reflection, probably no weirder than they already were.)
Oh, and I dug out my Age Of Apocalypse trade paperbacks - specifically the ones dealing with the Fantastic Four and the Avengers: Stark, Gwen Stacy, Clint Barton, Donald Blake (not Thor in this universe), Susan Storm, Ben Grimm, and Bruce Banner.
I'd forgotten how OUCHY the AoA was.
