1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment.
2) Ask your f-list to post questions in the comments. For example: "One, nine, and fifteen are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from four. Do they succeed?", "Under what circumstances might five and fourteen fall in love?", "Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?"
3) After your f-list has stopped asking questions, round them up and answer them using the fifteen characters you selected beforehand, then post them.
So I answered just about every question I could think of a suitable answer from. After the first one, I started cutting down to more manageable answers.
frea_o:
11 (Faith), 10 (Nita), and 5 (Irene) inherit a large sum of money, but are told they will only be given the money if they live in the same house for a year with no more than 20 hours apart at a time. Do they manage? Who kills whom first? Do they get along? Who has the wildest parties?
This is pretty hilarious, actually. These three are very much not money-oriented. Faith wants to fight and survive, Nita wants to slow entropy and not betray her wizardry, and Irene is about the power over individuals – I suspect that money is just a way to facilitate her way around the individuals she considers worth having power over.
Irene tries seducing everyone to start with (just to keep her hand in), but Faith is less into pretty words and more into the rough-and-fast, which Irene can do but doesn't particularly like. And Nita is initially shocked but quite firm that she's not going to sleep with Irene. ("A pity. The nice ones are always the most fun to corrupt.")
Nita breaks the 20 hours clause the first month when she gets called away to an intervention several galaxy clusters away and doesn't get back for two weeks. But her stuff is there and she rather likes living with people who keep odd hours themselves, because it makes her feel less guilty about disturbing her dad all the time like she did at home. Although she has a close call when Skerritt 'escapes' to Earth for a bit of time away from the Crossings and Faith catches him before he's got the mochteroof in place and thinks he's some kind of eldritch creature. Luckily, Nita had a quick memory-erase spell to hand and they fix the mochteroof so it passes muster.
Irene breaks the 20 hours clause the second month when Sherlock turns up in America and says he has a proposition for her. He recognises Faith as a Slayer but doesn't meet Nita who's out at the time. ("Unusual callouses – most likely caused by gripping something hard in the right hand for long periods of time. Young, female, living in a household with a preponderance of wooden objects, many with sharp tips. And Anafiel's Bestiary on your bookshelf. There are four copies in the world, one is in a private collection, and the other three are owned by the Watchers' Council." "So you're not just a pretty face, then.") Sherlock and Irene vanish for five days, only to return in the middle of the night, giving Nita a scare when she wakes up one morning and finds Sherlock sitting in slippers and a dressing gown at the kitchen table flipping through one of Carmela's alien catalogues with a steaming cup of tea. ("Interesting.")
And then a nest of vampires trash the house one night while looking for Faith.
1 (Jayne), 3 (Merlin), and 8 (Hardison) wake up handcuffed together with no memory of what happened. What did happen, and how were 12 (Bruce) and 9 (Luna) involved?
Jayne went drinking and tried to fight Bruce, Merlin made the mistake of intervening, and got a whack on the head that meant he miscast a spell that was supposed to contain the combatants and ended up binding them together. With experience at avoiding magic and his customary nimbleness, Bruce ducked the spell and it caught Hardison instead. Luna ends up helping get them out. Although not before she's grown them all beards, and turned them into muppets. Parker thought the muppets part was particularly cute.
schneefink:
7 (Maria) and 5 (Irene) team up to take over the world. Does 9 (Luna) try to stop them, would 9 (Luna) team up with 3 (Merlin), and would they succeed?
Maria and Irene taking over the world is…scary. Very scary. What Irene didn't corrupt, Maria would just roll right over. Oh God. Frankly, it's a positively terrifying thought! And Luna would probably trail in their wake, curious and innocently helpful, before Merlin tried to persuade her to help him fight them. And they'd fail. Because MARIA HILL AND IRENE ADLER PWN THE MULTIVERSES LIEK WHOA.
10 (Nita), 2 (Teyla), and 8 (Hardison) are in a band. What kind of music do they play? Which other characters from your list are among their fans?
Alternative with heavy use of classical instruments, I'd say. Nita mostly writes the stuff in between her wizardries, Teyla's the lead singer, and Hardison does the instruments – computer generated, of course.
If 15 (Steve), 14 (Vala), and 4 (Kono) played poker together, what are the stakes, and who would win?
Vala wants to play strip poker. Kono is initially amenable, but backs off when Steve gets uncomfortable. In the end, the deal is that the overall loser buys the overall winner drinks for the night. Vala cheats, of course, and Steve catches her and is polite but inflexible, so Vala ends up trying to get him drunk so he forgets about her cheating. 'Trying' being the operative word. Kono and Vala do end up slightly tipsy and some guy tries to drug them, which Kono objects to. Cue a fight which Steve feels he has to participate in to defend their honour – and because
Things being what they are, they're collected from the cop shop by Daniel Jackson, Steve McGarrett, and Maria Hill the next morning.
Steve: "Hill. Haven't seen you since Turkey."
Maria: "I heard you got out of the service, McGarrett. Sorry to hear about your dad."
Steve: "It happens. I hear you're in New York these days, cleaning up after some big-names?"
Maria: "Shit happens."
Steve: "Tell me about it."
Daniel (to the cop doing the processing): "It's a military thing."
13 (Kirk) , 11 (Faith), and 2 (Teyla) are transformed by a spell: one is turned into a vampire, one into a werewolf, and one into a zombie. Who is what?
LOL.
Kirk – Zombie. (Uhura: "He should have been dead a long time ago. He's certainly come back enough times.")
Faith – Vampire. (Spike: "Christ. She was bad enough as a bloody Slayer.")
Teyla – Werewolf. (John: "Her bite is much much worse than her bark." Rodney: "And we draw your attention to Exhibit A: the hickey on Sheppard's neck.")
If 7 (Maria) and 10 (Nita) eloped to get married, who would be their witnesses and who would be the most shocked?
Maria would probably bring Natasha along, and Nita would bring Carmela. And probably they'd be the most shocked themselves, I think.
mizz_destiny:
7(Maria), 8 (Hardison), and 1 (Jayne) have dinner. Where do they go, who orders what, and who pays?
Steakhouse. Maria orders the 300g fillet, medium rare, with a side of rosemary cream potatoes and an apple slaw, with a cider to drink. She eats the lot, while Hardison watches in something between horror and awe. Hardison orders a regular steak, well-done and curly fries with orange soda and proceeds to attempt to pick Maria's brains about the helicarrier systems. Jayne orders the BBQ ribs, a deep fried onion flower, and a large cheesy potato dish, and a beer – he also eats everything, orders four more beers, and starts a fight out in the parking lot with a guy who 'looked at him funny' on the way out of the restaurant.
crazy4orcas:
2 (Teyla) and 9 (Luna) are stranded on a desert island -- how did they get there and how do they get home?
Luna got them there, but can't seem to get them home. ("I guess it only works when you really want to be somewhere else. And I rather like it here. I'm sorry that you can't get back yourself, though.") And then Teyla's team-mates come looking for her with the locator chip implant.
6 (Tony), 12 (Bruce), and 14 (Vala) are competing as a team in a scavenger hunt -- do they win and how well do they get along?
Let me get this straight. Tony DiNozzo, Bruce Wayne, and Vala Mal Doran are on a scavenger hunt…and you're asking if they win? Uh, yes. They do. And then Vala steals the prizes from both Tony and Bruce. Tony doesn't realise he's missing his prize until he gets back home, but Bruce knew Vala was going to steal it and let her.
hiddencait:
14 (Vala), 8 (Hardison), and 7 (Maria) find out the hard way that they can shapeshift into various animals. What animals are they? Who ends up accidentally outting their own deep need for hugs via begging for belly rubs?
Okay, Hardison turns into a ferret. He ends up snoozing in Parker's catburglar gear and likes having his belly rubbed.
Vala shapeshifts into a big-eyed cat that likes sitting on Daniel's books and papers and watching him.
Maria shapeshifts into a crow and watches everything with a cool and beady eye.
Why is 5 so freaked out by all of this?
Because all three of them turn up at her house, turning it into 'menagerie mansion'.
lizbet0:
Characters 1 (Jayne), 3 (Merlin), and 5 (Irene Adler) get into a drunken argument with 7 (Maria), 11 (Faith) and 13 (Kirk) over what will most likely cause the end of the world.
Jayne: "Those rutting Reavers'll kill us all."
Faith: "They don't exist here. I'm voting for a Hellmouth. There's always a Hellmouth."
Irene: "Yes, these days we call it global politics." *standing well within Merlin's personal space and smiling* "You remind me of someone I know…"
Faith: "Biblically?"
Kirk: "I doubt there's any other way she knows people."
Merlin: *squirms and turns to Maria* "So, what do you think will cause the end of the world?"
Maria: "Does it matter? I'll still have to clean up afterwards."
Characters 2 (Teyla) and 13 (Kirk) have to make an emergency trip cross-country. Where do they have to go, why do they need to get there, and what transportation do they take?
There's a crossover fic in this! :D
Teyla wakes up next to Kirk just before armed men bust into the room. Between them, they take out their attackers. Once the guys are down, she can't reach the SGC, Kirk can't reach Spacefleet Command, they realise they have to get to Colorado Springs and the Stargate to work out what's happening. Which leads to Kirk stealing a car and basically working off the less salutory parts of his adolescence and adulthood. Cue subtle differentiation between Earth morality and Pegasus morality, and Teyla's perspective of a road trip across Earth...

the goddamned BatmanBruce Wayne involved?Oh yeah. One-sided scavenger hunt liek whoa...
