Uh, wow?

And Baby Makes Eight, my somewhat gratuitous Avengers baby-fic ("In the wake of the Avengers movie, Maria Hill discovers she's pregnant and the Avengers adopt her. Hilarity ensues") has surpassed my previous all-time hit Prince Of Camelot: Choice And Destiny, my Merlin fusion into the Black Jewels universe.

Mind you, it is a 4-chapter story so far, with a 5th chapter in progress and an epilogue. So technically for single-chapter stories, Prince of Camelot: Choice And Destiny is still in the lead, although Give A Girl A Moment And She'll Take You For All She's Got is only a couple of hundred hits behind, and A Woman Of Edges is only a couple of hundred hits behind that.

I'm sure these are mere pittances when compared to the big sections of fandom - the slash pairings, Clintasha, anything involving Darcy Lewis' little toe - but for stories that feature a character that most of the fandom didn't notice and those that did notice her mostly didn't like...I'm pretty happy.

Now if only I could find a few more good (and regular) writers for Maria! There are a couple out there...

I have a Maria & Clint fic I need to finish and maybe another couple of ideas for stories.

I'm just struggling to find my voice for Clint as I'm struggling to reconcile my view of movie Clint vs what I remember of comic Clint. They seem to be different characters to me at the moment.

It might have to come down to blocking out one version in favour of the other. A difficult choice to make or thing to do when you like both, but sometimes necessary? Could you consider movieClint to be an AU version of comicsClint or is the characterisation really differing that much?

I'm starting to lean towards movie Clint being an older version of comic Clint. It seems to flow better.

I'm not sure how old comic Clint is, but Jeremy Renner is in his early 40s in spite of having a baby face, so that seems reasonable. :)

I have no idea where the icon came from, but it's served me well and I love it. One can just imagine Maria and Phil tossing coins to determine who has to deal with Tony...
