I've been programming for HALF MY FREAKING LIFETIME. I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS.

I may not be the most disciplined of programmers, or the most brilliant of problem-solvers, but I know how to do this. And I also know about program performance, which is to say that you want the program to run in a matter of minutes, not a matter of hours.
