First things first: they've GROWN!

They were such teeny-tiny things when we got them, they're now at least twice their weight, and definitely much bigger. Teenaged dirtbags, baby!

the kittehs

They like to sit on things - especially quilts and fabrics and quilty-things:

What do you mean, these clean sheets aren't for me to sit in?

Smokey and the mermaids...

All ready to cut and then...cat!

Kitteh on silk

I like mermaids, mummy! #cats #quilting #fabric

I ended up just finishing off a 'mini quilt' and turning it into a cat mat.

But you made this for us to sit on, Mummy! And it is sooo comfy! #cats #quilting #funny

Smokey is a particular offender. Mal takes a little longer to decide she's going to attack whatever you're working on. Smokey's motto is "she who hesitates is lost."

Packing for Vietnam?

Our new kitty meat product! Made from genuine kitteh!

Although Mal has her moments. I'd had all these hexagons carefully arranged for sewing together and...Mal happened.

Kitteh and hexies

Mal's preferred lounger is me, though:

Mal and me.

Humans make such comfy mattresses, dontcha know? #cat #adorbs

kitteh happiness: a good long scritch!

And Smokey has her moments:

Here endeth the gratuitous kitteh post.

awwww!!!!!! <3

and yes, quilting + cats is a dangerous combination. I remember that, growing up, one of my jobs was always to keep the cat(s) off the dining room table while mom was piecing... although our first cat was more enamoured of knitting needles than quilt pieces. she would try to bat at the needles while mom was knitting. it generally did not end well (for either one!)
