Literally late, not euphemistically.

He said he'd be around 9am. We got a call around 9:10 - they were just leaving my aunt's place - about an hour away.

Then, at 10:15am, I called him - they were stopping over at a place that isn't on the way from the aunt's place to here - to...pick someone/something up? This place is 45mins from my aunt's and 45 mins from here.

Well, thanks for letting us know.

At around 11:30am, we get another call. They've stopped at a shopping centre, because they've been in the car so long that they've gotten car-sick.

*facepalm*

Luckily, I have had writing to do all morning (although I was going to go out shopping for food things), and my sister (the one who wanted him to come over to look at her car) has been to the gym, cooked up some food, and is now cleaning downstairs.

I think she should leave it until the horde (Dad, stepmum, stepbro, stepmum's friend, stepmum's friend's nephew, and my cousin who is presently staying with his mum and out of work) have come and gone, because they'll only tromp all about the floor making a mess of it.

Note to self: in future, tell Dad a time 1 hour earlier than planned meeting, so as to arrive there in time.

Also weirdness: my mum and stepdad have invited my dad (and the horde) for dinner at their house tomorrow night.

On one hand, it's a wonderful thing to have divorced parents who are civil to each other and can actually kind of sort of even like each other in a "God, I'm glad I'm not sleeping with you anymore" way (my stepfather's relationship with his ex-wife is fraught, and I only catch the edges of it every now and then), but it's still weird.

My dad's the same; always late. It really makes you feel important!
