So, they'll be exchanging contracts on Friday, with settlement six weeks after that. We then have a further three months to move out before the bulldozers move in and bye-bye house!
It kind of sucks: we're getting 2012 prices for the property in a 2014 market. On the other hand, the amount we're being paid by the developers is still more than we'd get from selling the house as a house.
Now for the sorting and discarding section, before packing and moving. That's going to be fun - we're in a 4-br house, with separated family/kitchen, and lounge/dining, a storage space below, and a double garage. We're looking for a much smaller 3br house. A lot of things are going to have to go. The worst part is sorting through it all and throwing as much as possible out...
