Guardians of the Galaxy: everyone has good things to say about it, even the people who think Marvel needs to make a movie ABOUT A FEMALE CHARACTER. Which, YES, MARVEL, YES, YOU DO.

I have written all of ten words towards my Marvel Big Bang - which is going to be Black Jewels MCU, I'm afraid; I don't think Maria & Bucky is going to be long enough to qualify (20K minimum). I don't even know if I'll make it far enough to qualify before the end of the month (16K minimum), dammit.

Rarepairfest? AHAHAHAHAHA.

Fic corner? AHAHAHAHAHA.

Profic? AHAHAHAHAHA.

I haven't gif'd in ages.

I want to write Steve/Maria ficlets just to catch the ship (okay, to stay on the damn ship, seeing as I kind of launched the pairing in a little dinghy which I had to row pretty much by myself through the backwash of the luxury liners WHY WOULD YOU WANT ANYTHING WITHOUT WHITE DICK FENCING IN IT and SEXY SPY PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT WOMEN WHO DO DUTIFUL THINGS WHICH ARE BORING) which seems to be gathering a little bit of tailwind after the revelation of the missing scene where Jasper accuses Maria of disloyalty to SHIELD (oh, the irony). However, I seem to be developing Maria Hill backstory related to that scene instead. And, I guess, kind of related to Steve/Maria, but only sidewise.

*sigh*

Anyway, I also lost - as in completely lost the file for the Pacific Rim fic Love, Sweet Love, which was all about Mako and her relationship with chocolate and her relationships with people over chocolate - my HD went on the blink and one day the file was there and the next it wasn't. *sigh* And I know what the next scene was and how it was and wasn't working, and I need to write it but I just can't. *flops around*

It doesn't help that my study is cold and wintry right now, and the bedroom is warm and snuggly with two cats who like my lap, which makes a laptop rather difficult to write on.

And there's the house things happening, too. Which, really, is all its own story.

I just double-checked, and it is 10k, not 20k. So you are closer than you thought, I guess?

Haha, at least you know what you're writing. Me, I have like five different stories that I'd like to tell, and none of them want to be written. (A couple probably would not be 10k anyway, but they're all like pulling teeth at the moment.)

I've been trying to decide if I can excise all the good bits of the various things I've got and cobble them into an actual plot. It's not looking too promising, although the major themes I seem to have going are Steve and Maria meeting while traveling and being domestic? IDEK.

(Maybe I should dust off that epistolary prompt you gave me awhile back, where they're online friends before they meet in person...)

ps. so sorry that we never ended up actually fic warring - I knew life was going to throw me a few busythings this year, I didn't quite anticipate the AND HOW part of it...

But I have an idea for that - have had one for aaaaaaages, just haven't been able to scramble brains into sufficient omeletteness.

Right, so I am le dingbat and didn't read the instructions, just going off the ones from two years ago, which I'm pretty sure required 20K finished total.

...AND NOW I HAVE ANGST.

DO I KEEP TRYING TO WRITE 20K+ (as this story inevitably will be) OR DO I JUST GIVE UP AND WRITE SOMETHING (POSSIBLY) SHORTER?

Maria & Bucky would probably end up being 7K-ish anyway... :/

I'm not deep in the Marvel fandom, but I adored the movie. SPACE!! It was fun and entertaining.
