crazy4orcas: what's your most entertaining birthday story? Can be your big day or someone else's.
...I don’t think I have an entertaining birthday story.
*tries to remember*
We’re not big on parties in our family – or haven’t been beyond the ‘big’ ones. And even those ‘big ones’ were pretty tame.
Hm. Okay.
My most entertaining birthday story is probably the ‘funny hat’ birthday party that I got invited to entirely by accident. I didn’t really know the people who were throwing the party; I’d only been at church for a couple of months, and I’d chatted to the birthday guy a few times and (I guess) exchanged phone numbers. And I got an invitation by text message. Except when I got there, it turned out he and his wife thought I was another girl with a similar name.
Should have been awkward, right? Nope. I gave him the gift, and told him happy birthday, and just went in to the party anyway, chatted with a bunch of people that I kind of knew from church, and had a pretty good time.
In my Quangle Wangle Quee hat!

Anyway, that's the talkmeme done - a little sketchily, I'm afraid. Thanks so much for giving me prompts to write, peoples! I don't think I've made any new friends throughout this, but that's not entirely surprising; I'm a bit of a niche interest group when it comes to fandom and fannish interests, and LJ/DW are not as large or as varied as they once were.
Happy New Year to y'all, and here's hoping for the best for every last one of us in 2015!
