I didn't know you were a Merlin fan!

Please note: I only watched Merlin to the end of Season Three and never finished the series. So, in my imaginary world where Arthur eventually finds out about Merlin's magic and deals with it and the end of S5 doesn't happen...
Merlin & Arthur quirks (including Gwen, because: Gwen):
Even when Arthur knows what aggravates Merlin he still does it sometimes - usually to get Merlin out of a sulk. ("I don't sulk." "Yes, you do. Doesn't he, Gwen?" "All I'll say is that it takes one to know one." "Ouch." "Ouch.")
Even after Merlin becomes Camelot's sorcerer and advisor to the High King, he still sometimes gives Arthur's manservant the day off and rearranges everything in a way deliberately calculated to annoy Arthur. Gwen has caught him doing this at least once, then suggested something that Merlin never thought of.

OF COURSE GWEN!
LOL! Love your little quirks. Yes, totally. I accept them 100%.

Maria ages. Steve doesn't. Which prompts amusement about 'Director Hill's toy boy' that Maria ignores (although she finds such reactions useful to filter out the small-minded) and which makes Steve angry (even if his only sign is a narrowing of his eyes and an icy cold shoulder).
Actually, the whole aging/not aging thing annoys Steve more than it does Maria. Once they fell in love, he always knew he wanted to grow old with her, and when they realise he's not aging physically, he feels cheated.
Maria's easier with it, because a part of her always felt that her relationship with Steve would have to be temporary. Not that she says this to Steve, of course.

I like the headcanon developed in the SGA Legacy book series. Teyla's father (Torran) was Athosian, but her mother (Tagan) "walked through gates" which is to say that she had itchy feet and never stayed long in one place.
But Teyla's idea of family is a bit broader than the standard definitions of western Earth cultures. In Pegasus, "family" is almost always self-made. With the Wraith taking people right left and centre, destroying families, people make space for those not of blood or people or creed, but of spirit, and call them 'family'.

Maria Hill doesn't make friends. She makes not-enemies.
If she knew who coined that phrase, she'd kill them. Quietly, on a mission that should really be a no-go, but which she'd activate specially, just for them.
Of course, it does tend to outline the core of the issue at hand, which is that Maria is Not Friendly. Mostly because she's very focused, very professional, and while she has an excellent memory for missions, locations, resources, Stuff That May Be Useful When Formulating Exit Plans, she has almost none whatsoever for personal details. Which means that she can remember the last five missions her fellow agents have been on, but not that they got married last September and are expecting their first child.
This is a problem for most people, who like other people to remember their personal details.
Note the word 'most'.
The people who end up being Friends With Maria Hill tend to be the people for whom small talk and social niceties are less of a priority than having someone who would watch their back and cover for them in a tight situation (eg. Phil Coulson, Steve Rogers). And, as it turns out, those are the people whose personal details Maria can remember. Although she still doesn't tend to ask about them, because she knows they probably don't want to talk about it (eg. Romanoff and Barton).
Interestingly, Pepper Potts presents an entirely new paradigm of friendship for Maria - and one that shouldn't work, but does. Maybe it's just that in spite of her position, her poise, and her personality, Pepper also prioritises having someone who would back her up without question over being socially 'nice'. This is mostly because Pepper's encountered far too many polite and courteous backstabbers to trust that just because someone mouths pretty things means they're going to help her when the shit lands.

Hm. This is one where nothing much springs to mind. I'd make a joke about "left-boob touching" but Steve is really not the touchy-feely kind.
There's his drawing, of course. Give him paper and a pencil and watch him go. He likes drawing people in all moods and phases (the more moods, the better), and occasionally whimsical sketches (like the performing monkey).
He started off cooking because nothing tasted quite right and with everything else going on around him, sometimes he just wanted something simple and which tasted of 'home'. Which, of course, was impossible to find in the chemistry lab which is the modern commercial food system.
So he starts by getting the ingredients himself (from farmer's markets, because that was apparently the most reliable way, although the costs initially seemed horrific to him), and that leads to trying new things, expanding his horizons, and developing his cooking skills in the kitchen.

I think my problem with this is that I have trouble seeing Sam going gently into that good night.
But if she did survive everything, I imagine Sam retiring on a little planetoid where the locals are friendly and moderately sociable, and she (and Jack, of course), integrate into the community like a couple of elders. She tinkers on 'slow projects' for the SGC (things that have no urgency) and Jack absolutely, positively, and totally refuses to consult for the SGC, Atlantis, or the IOA (unless the rep comes to see him while he's fishing and spends the day with him, as TJ Emmagan did, and went back with a whole heap of information for the situation that was brewing in Pegasus; and Jack went home and told Sam that 'they bring them up pretty right in Pegasus' and she just reminded him that TJ learned trading and twisting people around his little finger in an expedition full of work-focused individuals).

Teyla is easily friendly, and she is willing to be friends with anyone at least to start with. But if you cross her lines, she will BURN you.
(See: Ronon killing Kel, although she understands why and advocates silence; also: Michael and her disposal of him.)
