So, about five years ago, I came up with an SG1/SGA major AU and its working title was "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". It was EPIC. But I got through the opening scene and that was about it. (Did I mention EPIC?)
About three years ago, I came up with an MCU post-Avengers fic idea that started with Give A Girl A Moment And She'll Take You For All She's Got as the spearhead, and was to be followed up with a massive fic of EPIC that was swiftly jossed by Agents of SHIELD and the events of Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and Cap 2.
I got about 20K in and posted it as The Right Hand Knows Not, which is a permanent WIP.
Two years later, I've rejigged the whole idea - which is, once again, about to be jossed with Agents of SHIELD and Avengers: Age of Ultron - and I'm contemplating title names. It's still EPIC, and I've only just finished the opening scene - and believe me, that was an effort and a half.
And basically I'm scared that if I don't finish it within the month I'll never finish it at all. I have the time and space to write it right now, what with the daily commute, but whether I can wrench all the concepts into line and get it out? Another matter entirely.
I hate writer's block.

Mostly, it's just a case of pushing forward, pushing forward, pushing forward.
And catching up on Agents of SHIELD because I haven't seen S2 at all yet. *facepalm*

But yeah, jossing tends to throw my ideas into a welter for a while...
