A tweet passed on to me by a friend:
"At one point there are 12 women on screen, all with speaking roles, none of them talking about a man."

(I can't give attribution, because I don't know who said it.) Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] kuwdora!

I am so down for this movie. I have not seen the originals. Do you know if that's necessary?

I had no intention of seeing this movie but after a couple of articles of men complaining about it being a feminist action movie I think I'm going to see it.

I haven't seen the first ones, but am usually up for a but of action movie. The MRAs saying it has better not be successful or there'll never be a sexist action movie again is convincing me I should see it :-)

That said: what is this movie? My Twitter and Dreamwidth are filled with "OMG SO GOOD SO FEMINIST SO GOOD" but I know literally nothing about the franchise except that it's apparently an action movie franchise that now has feminism and women in.
