This was pretty much done over the weekend, from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon. I cut it out on Thursday night and started sewing the pieces on Friday night. Half the quilt was done by Saturday night, and I did the rest on Sunday.
There were layout issues, at one point the cat decided I wasn't paying her enough attention and there was rolling:

Oh, Mal.
Luckily I'd taken a photo before she decided I wasn't paying her enough attention.
The fabric line is Mendocino Mermaids by Heather Ross, and released by the Free Spirit fabric house. It's an old line, no longer in print, although Windham Fabrics is reprinting some of the line in the "Spring 2016" collection, which was on display this weekend at the Houston Quilt Market 2015.
The design is the Yuma Quilt by Gotham Quilts.
I'm still debating whether I want to add borders or not, mostly to make it larger.

LOL. True. I find the more I get into the art quilts, the longer it takes me to finish one! That seems backwards in some ways, but I am adding more details, so I guess there's that.
I have some plans to make myself a quilt for my bed with Japanese fabrics I've bought and I'm going to make a friend a lap quilt. Those should be fairly brainless. I'm looking forward to that!
