Today is grumpy day. It may be that I’m tired, and I’ve been tired all week. The tingling has stopped, but the slight ache in the right and left hand hasn’t. Not convinced there’s “nothing there” but can’t really prove otherwise.

Also, fandom is kind of pissing me off right now.

Oh it's the whole defensive treatise for problematic favourites again. Mostly in Star Wars fandom right now.

(Yes, your favourite is problematic. No, it's not less problematic just because you have Reasons. Yes, you are allowed to like what you like. However, you will have to personally deal with the issue of liking problematic things and earning the judgement of others in the process in your own head, not run around loudly protesting that you're a speshul snowflake and not like all the other snowflakes who have problematic faves.)

Ugh. SW fandom is so bad right now. Just go ship whatever you want to ship, tag it, and lay off the ship wars/stenning. People are like 90% more likely to leave your fave alone if you keep your head down rather than taking the bait in the latest flamewar. (The least wanky corner of fandom seems to be the Luke/Leia incest shippers, because they're doing exactly that.)

(Also, everyone needs to lay off the troll fic, no matter what ship they're trolling. I feel like I'm dealing with a bunch of nine year olds.)

I have barely even dipped my toe in SW fandom. But there are some people who, if you reblog something that even comes within shooting distance of criticising their favourites, will write you a treatise about how they're different.

Spare me, really.

I kind of think this is baby's first megafandom for a lot of people. Or maybe I'm just getting old. I feel like I've seen this wank before.
