work HR SNAFU

...ugh. Apparently I am severely in arrears on the days of Annual Leave I'm allowed to take, thanks to a series of disconnected systems that didn't notify us of the issue back when it happened in 2013.

As a result, I'm going to have to take Leave Without Pay for the upcoming holiday.

My sister: Can't you just cancel the holiday?
Me: Frankly, cancelling the holiday isn't worth the money it would save.

This is not stress that I need right now. NOT NEEDED.

UGH. You take those trips every summer and you still have Annual Leave piled up? What a pain, I'm sorry you have to take unpaid now.

No, this is actually leave that I've had to purchase back (I take a cut in salary in return).

I know i'm fortunate to even have this option - but it's just a little irking and concerning to have this happeng right now.

I'm seriously thinking about buying back an extra month of leave from hereon in, actually.

Ah, if only there was the special hell for HR snafus... So tiring and stressful to work out. And, in addition to which, work has decided to send me off to a client site in another state for a week. Which is better than last time which was for two days, but still...
